ARMONIA Online Course Kicks Off with Focus on Quality Assurance

The ARMONIA capacity building online course began on Monday, 3 November 2025, launching a new learning opportunity for staff members of the ARMONIA Libyan partners, seeking to improve their institutional practices.

More than 50 participants joined the first session “Ensuring Quality and Sustainability: Policies, Practices, and Perspectives”.

The session was delivered by Gianfilippo Terribili from the Sapienza University of Rome. The lecture emphasised the role of quality assurance in higher education.

Quality assurance ensures that institutions provide qualified services, attract national and international students and researchers, and maintain a high level of scientific quality. It also fosters the growth of the academic community by promoting inclusivity, transparency, and accessibility. Participants received practical strategies to strengthen institutional policies and promote sustainable practices.

The ARMONIA online course has the objective to reinforce and complement the knowledge gained during the Staff Training Week held in Istanbul last May.

The course has 3 modules, each with 2 online sessions, running over 6 weeks on Mondays in November and December 2025. It covers the main project themes: Quality Assurance, Teaching Innovation, and Internationalisation with ECTS, in line with the Bologna Process. EU partners contribute their expertise and share best practices to help Libyan colleagues adopt effective and innovative approaches in higher education.

The second part of the first module will take place on Monday, 10 November 2025 focused on Learning Goals to Innovative Teaching Practices delivered by Alessandra Natalini, (Sapienza University of Rome) continuing the course’s focus on equipping participants with knowledge and practical tools to support institutional growth and internationalisation.

Please note: The course is only available to staff members of ARMONIA project partner institutions
